ABOUT ME
My life and path to becoming a gamedeveloper
Hi, I’m Owen, a 19-year-old aspiring game developer from Oostzaan. I was born in Zaandam and consider myself a friendly, down-to-earth person who’s easy to work with.
Game development is my true passion. I love bringing ideas to life and especially enjoy projects where I have a lot of creative freedom. Collaborating with others makes the process even more rewarding. My favorite project so far has been Rift Guardian—it was my first time working with VR, and it opened my eyes to the potential of immersive experiences. Since then, I’ve been eager to learn more about VR and push my skills further.
While I used to play volleyball, I lost interest when most of my team quit. Now, I stay active by doing fitness with my aunt and friends.
Working in Unity and Unreal Engine has been both challenging and exciting, which is exactly why I love them. I also enjoy experimenting with new technology like VR and AR. Testing a project is always a highlight for me because that’s when I receive the most feedback and get to refine my work. Fortunately, I’m great at finding creative solutions to any problem that comes my way.

My plan for the future
I plan to gain more experience in game programming with C#. I also have experience with software such as Blender, Houdini, and Unreal Engine (see portfolio). I am eager to intern at a company where I can learn more about Unity or Unreal Engine. Unity appeals to me because I already have some experience with it and want to deepen my skills. On the other hand, Unreal Engine piques my curiosity, as I believe it could play a significant role in the future of game development.
